Ok, I'm 18, i'm an Essex lad and i love West Ham United. Having been a season ticket for the past 7 years now, i will never or have never claimed to know the ins and outs of West Ham history, (however much i try) i do know about west ham today. Spending most of my time surfing the net for the latest news, transfer rumours and any other random (or relevant) West Ham information, which i will post here for your amusement.
Please, post a reply, we'll have a banter and i hope to see you in the Boleyn on match day!

Good luck with this.
ReplyDeleteCheers mate, read my first "real post" gis a comment and tell me what you think! More news coming soon.
ReplyDeleteOvbviously, you enjoy writing or you wouldn't be doing this. My advice, for what it's worth, is to read as much good writing as you possibly can. The better journalists, the quality papers, good sports writers like Hugh McIlvaney, Martin Johnston, John Arlott (his stuff is still in print). Don't just restrict yourself to reading about football, read about all sports. Read the news, read the classics. See how they construct their pieces, see how they use language to such good effect, how they create pictures with words. Read, read and read some more. It will pay off for you, in time you will develop your own better, stronger writing style.
ReplyDeleteGood for you kiddo and that is very sound advice from Geoff.
ReplyDeleteYou'll pick up on the WHU history as you go along but a good starting point if you wanna start reading about the Irons would be any of Brian Belton's books eg The last Englismen.
